RainerScript is a scripting language specifically designed and well-suited for processing network events (with the most prominent sample being syslog). It was invented in February of 2008 and had its first appearance in rsyslog expression support. RainerScript is currently in its infancy and being developed side-by-side (and within) the rsyslog project. If you wonder how it got its fancy name, you may want to visit Rainer's blog post about that.
